The Fall Of Man

The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ is not a story it's a mystery and to understand what it really entailed what it meant why he had to die and die for us specifically we must know what took place from the beginning of time...the creation and fall of man ultimately...the one who breathed life into our nostrils who was good became sin,separated too from God just for a moment to take us back with him and through him.

I was reading John,in fact the gospel according to John has been my read since January this year...well majorly I felt led to ready it...this year my prayer and intention was to know God as my Lord in my past years I felt i had known him as my friend my healer my father my best friend but not my Lord...and I told him this...I wanted my relationship with him to grow in this direction this year...in John chapter one Christ is revealed to us,in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God...the word was the light of men..this was not the first time i have read this verse but this year was the first time God opened my mind to understand it...i felt so invested in John,i couldn't stop thinking about it i went as far as buying a notebook for my Bible study...I was like God,i dont even know what people be writing when reading their Bible and I  have never done this before but i want to...i was in Chapter one reading every paragraph and breaking it down...every single word felt like a new revelation because for the first time i was reading it looking for Christ...God was answering my prayer of knowing him as my Lord...he told me to know him as my Lord i need to know who he is and why he is Lord why John calls him the light of all men the truth...that he came to bear witness to the light but he is not the light...that the light was coming into the world, he was in the world and the world was made through him but the world knew him not.

When I reached here i felt compelled to go back to Genesis and read creation...I felt God was telling me to know him,to know he is the light of all men that he was in the beginning with God I needed to know and understand what John was telling me by going back in the beginning just like the gospel is telling me...in the beginning....while I was reading, I have to say this past week has been really deep for me,I slowly came to realise how much of a thinker i am hence why I love solitude am not by any means an introvert😂it's my mind...i could be walking on the road and not see you or hear you calling me because my mind is so far away thinking and it's not just about what am reading but random things too I would be thinking about hell and demons sometimes angels and God sometimes ice-cream i don't know what my mind be up to I love calling it my little guy because I feel like it has a life of its own😂anyway I love my mind so much,it's this depth that makes me curious and to an extent rebellious that ultimately leads me to God,yes i have learnt to submit my rebellious nature to God because in doing so I have seen the rebellion is just a fruit of something only he can give me,a question only he can answer a thirst only he can quench,a wrong only he can right,we need to know that God wants us,all of us,when we say yes to him and submit everything we are to him he brings to light what was once in darkness,he created you which means he knows you even the parts you are ashamed of parts you think make you weak or less faithful to him, submitting to him helps you see that he knows you and even that which you think is working against you is what brings you closer to him closer to his feet he made you a new creature but your weaknesses make you human,make room for his divinity,gives him access to be revealed through you that there will be no doubt it was him and all glory will go back to him ...I say this to say   its okay to talk about your weaknesses and let people see you for the human you are,to be vulnerable and let yourself be seen,in doing so they will see its Jesus who enables you do the things that you do its his power and grace its the holy spirit working in you and through you and the holy spirit in you is also in them he will meet them in their humanity, exactly where they are.

Wow...let me go back to creation...I went back to Genesis and read the creation of man...this time searching for Jesus to see what John had seen and written so beautifully...the creation story is so profound what stuck out was the creation of man God said let us create man in our own image after our likeness  and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth,notice he said us...i went back to John and read the first verse again,in the beginning was the word the word was with God and the word was God... everything God created he spoke it into existence through a word,and when it came to existence he saw that it was good,John equally says the word was the light of all men the word became flesh... he says no one has seen the father except the son who has made him known which means we cannot go to God except through Jesus Christ...the creation of man intrigued me because it has been written twice...first on the sixth day when he created male and female and gave them dominion over everything on earth and told them to be fruitful and multiply...the second time the creation of man is written more deeply in chapter two,how man of dust was formed from the ground and breathed life into his nostrils,the breathe of life and man became a living being...here the garden of Eden is also created.

In John chapter one it's written in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God,He was in the beginning with God all things were made through him and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness and darkness has not overcome it. I am mentioning this part many times because I need you to see the relationship and connection between the First chapter of the gospel according to John and Genesis...I believe the same way God told me that in order to know him I need to go back to the beginning is the same way he will reveal to you...that to know him you must know when it all began who is Jesus...the word that was made flesh and dwelt among us,full of grace and truth we have beheld his glory glory as of the only son from the father...I am writing this with my Bible beside me because am still learning all of this and every single time i go back to read it feels like am reading it for the first time.

When I came to Genesis chapter two I started feeling confused like God you led me to John the Frist time and I was starting to understand it,I loved everything I was reading my Bible study was becoming lit and now you have taken me to Genesis...why? I want to read John. I love reading John in my mind I thought I would only read creation and go back to John but I felt compelled to stay right there where I was...this disturbed me mainly because I thought I was diverting from reading about Jesus to now Abraham Moses Noah the Israelites and Jacob😂😂I wondered why God was disrupting everything when the flow was good. Anyway I continued reading Chapter two of Genesis the creation of man and the garden of Eden. God took man and put him in the garden of Eden to till and keep it and told him he may eat of any tree in the garden apart from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil for the day he shall eat of it he shall die. When God brought all the cattle the beast of the earth and all the animals to see what man would call them whatever man called them that was it's name,this showed me we were one with God we operated in oneness with the one who created us...because we were made from his own image his spirit was the only spirit operating in us,it's crazy today morning Pastor Stephanie Ike preached the same thing...we were functioning in the mind of Christ...this was man in his original form and nature...our original self was also revealed when woman was formed... God had caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man and took one of his ribs and closed up the place with flesh. God made the rib into a woman and brought her to the man. The man saw her and said at last bones of my bones and flesh of my flesh she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man. How did he know yet God had caused a deep sleep to fall upon him? How did he know that the woman was taken out of him?He knew because he was in oneness with God...we were one with him who created us who breathed life into our nostrils who gave us dominion over the earth and every animal.

The creation of man shows us in whose image we were made from,who we are,our true identity...which is in Christ Jesus...we only knew of good because we were made from God who is good we only knew him and he knew us...when I think about it i realise only Adam and Eve know what it feels like how it was operating in our original form before they ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...have you ever wondered why God did not want them to eat of this tree?why did he not tell them the tree of life?why only the tree of good and evil.

You see we were made of light and only knew of good not evil because we were made in the image of God who is good and God wanted it remain that way,he wanted us to be one with him he wanted nothing to separate us...he wanted to protect us from any evil and when man ate the fruit he was now exposed to evil leading to separation from God because now not only good was part of him but also evil...when God had told him when he ate of the tree he shall die this death represented separation from God which actually happened...death spiritually is separation from God not physical death...it's written for God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believed in him shall not die but have everlasting life,shall have eternal life...when he created us he breathed the breathe of life into our nostrils...evil is from darkness but good is from light...the separation took place and this was manifested in man through the separation of the spirit and the flesh...this is as a result of the disobedience that took place in the garden when they ate from the tree...we are told sin is doing things that are not right in the eyes of the Lord but I submit to you today that sin is disobedience our actions are the fruits of the flesh the result of our disobedience to God and his voice. We cannot overcome sin outside of God with our own actions because the actions will be of the flesh and not of the spirit. The spirit of God. Jesus also said in John that we must worship God in truth and in spirit.

The fall of man was the fall of humanity,and because we are all children of Adam and Eve we have all fallen all fallen short of his glory we are all born in sin. It's in this knowledge we are able to identify what God did for us through his son Jesus Christ it's in this knowledge we are able to know why word was made flesh why John says the word was life and the life was the light of men that the light shines in the darkness and darkness has not overcome it. Evil has not overcome it...it's when God reveals to us how we were created how we fell and why we fell that we are able to see the great sacrifice he made by giving us his only son to die for us and face death...because of his unconditional steadfast love for his creation the only creation that was made from his image after his likeness the only creation he breathed life into the only creation he gave dominion to...we are saved...I will end by saying it is by grace we are saved.

And the word became flesh and dwelt among us,full of grace and truth,we have beheld his glory,glory as of the only son from the father. (John bore witness to him and cried,"this was he of whom I said,he who comes after me ranks before me for he was before me, and from his fullness have we all received grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses,grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God the only son who is in the bosom of the father,he has made him known.
